Snapchat Launches New Harry Potter Lenses: How To Use

Snapchat has partnered with Warner Bros. to introduce a new Harry Potter lens. This new lens launches on Sunday, just days before the premiere of the four-part quiz show competition series – Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses. Snapchat says fans will be able to talk to the camera using its VoiceML technology, to magically dress themselves in the colors, costumes and face paint of the festive Hogwarts house. The famous four houses of Hogwarts in the very popular Harry Potter franchise are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

New Snapchat The Harry Potter lens is introduced to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film and is preceded by the competition series, “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses”, which aired on November 28. The show will premiere at 8 p.m. ET/PT (6.30 p.m.). pm IST) on TBS and Cartoon Network, with new episodes every Sunday. Using VoiceML technology, Snapchat users will be able to literally say things like “Go Go Gryffindor,” and “Take a Snap” to dress up, and send photos to their like-minded Potter friends in the lead up to the show.

How to Use Harry Potter Lenses on Snapchat

Follow these simple steps to use the new Harry Potter lenses on Snapchat:

  1. open to Snapchat Camera.

  2. take a picture of harry potter snapcode, or search within the Snap Lens Carousel until the premiere.

  3. tap microphone button To enable voice commands.

  4. Tap on the top of your head, i.e. “Tap to Change House” to trigger phrase suggestions: “Go Go Go Gryffindor”, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin.

  5. Say which house you are in, and watch your festive house color, dress and face color change to you.
