Sean Bean continues to fascinate as eccentric inventor Joseph Wilford, as Snowpiercer embarks on his solo journey around the world with his more than 1,000 cars. Based on the 1982 French Graphic Novel le transparcenase The show is set in a frozen, post-apocalyptic world by Jacques Loeb, Benjamin Legrand and Jean-Marc Rochette, and the 2013 film, (also based on the novel) by Bong Joon-ho.

After a climate experiment goes horribly wrong and the world freezes, Wilford, a transport magnate, turns his luxury train into an ark with tracks around the world. The constant speed powers the train as well as keeps the passengers, the last remnant of humanity, alive.

Aboard Snowpiercer, class and power struggles flourish and survive. At the end of season two, Chief Engineer Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) gives her life to save data on Earth’s warming. Revolution leader Layton (David Diggs) splits a pirate train from Snowpiercer to search for the new Eden, a habitable place to colonize Earth.

Wilford wants to unite the two trains so that he has twice the power and double the fun. Most of the series regulars return. Bess Till (Mickey Sumner), the rookie detective before Freeze but now part of Layton’s inner circle, may be the happiest chance with the beautiful Miss Audrey (Lena Hall), Nightcar’s sultry voice and soul, Vanilla’s Lair . Vice.

Story: A tri-angle power struggle keeps the everlasting engine on track

Romantic entanglements in the third season have a different soapy air, with Layton eventually choosing Josie (Katie McGuinness), who, despite sharing baby Liana with his ex-wife Zara (Sheila Wand), transforms into an ice lady. Melanie’s cold escaped torture. , The two decide that they are better off as co-parents rather than as a couple. Mad scientist Mrs. Hedwood (Sakina Jaffrey) continues her experiments with cold remedies, including baby liana.

Young people are terrific role models. Alex (Rowan Blanchard), thanks to the brainwashing of Melanie’s estranged daughter Wilford, temporarily fixes bridges with her mother and befriends Carly (Esther Ming Lee), daughter of breakman Roche (Mike O’Malley). Is.

LJ (Annalise Basso) lives up to his blissful, uncharacteristic way of reuniting with Oz (Sam Otto) and marrying him in a fun ceremony organized by Wilford to remove the oppressed and weary. Xavi (Roberto Urbina) suffers from PTSD after being killed by another engineer, Wilford’s dog, Jupiter. Helps in dealing with dreams. , Wilford’s chief of security.

Archie Punjabi as Asha is a newcomer to the show when Layton finds him at a nuclear power plant in North Korea. She has gone through unspeakable horrors and her presence is an opportunity for Indian mysticism, flowers and random Hindi sentences as she tries to pay off her debts.

The show moves smoothly on a well-oiled track. The Ouroboros episode where Layton is tripping brilliant light after going into a coma following a head injury is a nice divergence in look and feel. At the end of season three, Wilford is neutralized to a degree (he’ll certainly return to the bogie he is), and the train is once again split.

The show has been renewed for a fourth season, and we still have to see how events work out in the film set in 2031. Season three takes place six months after the events of season two, so we could still be in 2021 or early 2022… Wondering if the producers are going to reschedule the events or argue easily with the film. are. Either way, it’s a good ride worth taking.
