Guwahati: The army The investigation into the December 2021 killing of 13 villagers in Nagaland’s Mon district is over and officials are examining the report before taking any disciplinary action, said Lt Gen Rana Pratap, GOC-in-C, Eastern Command. Kalita Said on Monday.
On December 4 last year, six villagers from Oting in Mon district were returning home from work when a team of 21 special forces, mistaking them as rebels, attacked them.

The Army Commander said, “I assure that we identify any mistake and lapse which may have been committed on the part of any person, disciplinary action will be taken against those persons, irrespective of their rank or whatever. Ho.”
He said that the Army’s ‘Court of Inquiry’ has been completed and now the report is being examined.

“It has been said earlier by the Chief of Army Staff and my predecessor in the Eastern Command that this Otting incident was a case of mistaken identity and error of judgment. But that doesn’t give us any chance to keep things under the wraps.”
