Someone Wore the iPod Shuffle as a Hair Clip and Millennials Are Crazy

Apple iPod shuffle used to be a luxury for college students and the younger generation when it was launched in 2005. Not only did it make life easier for those who were tired of carrying a heavy and big Walkman, but downloading unlimited songs was a blessing. , Although the iPod Shuffle was discontinued in 2017, it still remains a happy memory for many millennials. Years later, the iPod shuffle has made a comeback on TikTok, but not how you’d expect it to return. Several videos of TikTok users wearing iPod Shuffles as hair-clips and earrings have surfaced on the platform in recent weeks. While some users also used other retro gadgets and wired earphones as accessories, videos involving the iPod Shuffle went viral and garnered over 2 million views.

In one of the viral videos, the user is doing a shuffle and trying to figure out what it is. The caption of this post read, “Anyone know what this is?!??!.” A TikTok user named Celeste Tice says in the video, “I found this old iPod, I don’t know, the hair clip thing.” He then goes on to wear the iPod Shuffle as a buck clip.

According to a report in Gizmochina, the video was just a prank Tice had wanted to do for a long time and uploaded the clip to confuse others.

In 2001, on October 23, Steve Jobs announced the launch of the iPod to the world. On the twentieth anniversary of OG Music on the go, people on the internet couldn’t help but feel nostalgic about bygone eras last year.

The iPod marked the beginning of an era, changing the way music was consumed for many people. Today, in the age of smartphones, Spotify and other readily and democratically available music platforms as well as devices, it is a largely redundant device. However, its nostalgic value on social media users has not diminished. NPR described the iPod in 2009 as a “quantum leap in listening,” it said in a recent report. It said that the first generation iPods were launched with the slogan “1,000 songs in your pocket”. The iPod, after being launched in October, went on sale in November of 2001. We have come a long way since then.
