The Goa government will submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) to the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sonali Phogat murder case To the Haryana government, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on August 29.

Mr Sawant told reporters that the Goa Police is investigating the matter in the right direction.

“I would like to say that the Goa Police has done a good investigation so far,” the chief minister said.

He said that the ATR would be handed over to the Chief Minister of Haryana and the Director General of Police.

Phogat (43), a former Tik Tok star from Hisar in Haryana and a contestant of the reality TV show “Bigg Boss”, was brought dead to a hospital in North Goa on August 23, a day after arriving in the coastal state with two was. other.

Mr Sawant on Sunday said his government was ready to hand over the probe into Phogat’s death to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) if needed.

He had also said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had spoken to him and requested a detailed inquiry into the matter.

Police have so far arrested five persons including Phogat’s male associates Sudhir Sagwan and alleged owner of Curlies restaurant Edwin Nunes Sukhwinder Singh and drug peddlers- Dattaprasad Gaonkar and Ramakant Mandrekar.

A case has been registered against Singh and Sagwan for murder.

Phogat, Singh and Sagwan had a party at Curlies restaurant in Anjuna, North Goa, hours before their death.

According to the prosecution, Nunes is the owner of Curlies restaurant where Phogat and his associates had a party on the intervening night of August 22 and 23.

A senior police officer said that Phogat was given methamphetamine and some left over drug was recovered from the washroom of the restaurant.

The five accused are currently in the custody of Goa Police.
