Sonali Phogat’s family has agreed to give their consent for the postmortem, but with the condition that the process be videographed. The development comes two days after the death of a BJP leader in Goa.

The autopsy was earlier scheduled for Wednesday at the Government Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) near Panaji.

However, Phogat’s brother Rinku Dhaka on Wednesday claimed that he was murdered by two of his associates. He said the family would allow the postmortem only after the Goa Police registered an FIR against the two persons.

Sonali Phogat’s nephew Mohinder Phogat said on Thursday morning that the family has consented for the postmortem with the condition that the entire process be videographed.

“The police have told us that an FIR will be registered after the post-mortem regarding our complaint,” he said.

A police official had earlier said that Phogat, 42, a BJP leader from Haryana’s Hisar, who rose to fame on Tik Tok, was brought dead on Tuesday morning at St Anthony’s Hospital in Anjuna area of ​​North Goa district. a suspected heart attack.

Later the police registered a case of unnatural death.

At present, the body is kept in the morgue of GMCH.

GMCH officials said they were waiting for a green signal from the state police to conduct the postmortem.

The hospital has already constituted a panel of two forensic experts for the autopsy.

Phogat’s brother Dhaka has filed a complaint with the Goa Police claiming that he was murdered by two of his associates.

He alleged that Phogat had spoken to his mother, sister and brother-in-law shortly before his death. He said she seemed upset and complained against two of her colleagues.

He also claimed that CCTV cameras, laptops and other important things from his farmhouse in Haryana have disappeared after his death.

Dhaka further alleged in the police complaint that three years ago, one of her associates sexually assaulted her after eating her food and later blackmailed her.

No FIR has been registered on his complaint so far.

Meanwhile, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that the state police is conducting a detailed investigation into Phogat’s death.

Sawant said that looking at the opinion of the doctors and Goa Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh, it appears that he died of a heart attack.
