Sourav GangulyThe chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India declared “a new chapter” in his life in a tweet on Wednesday. The tweet sparked widespread speculation about his future, with some suggesting that he was going to step down from the cricket board and others predicting a plunge into politics. However, on Thursday he put to rest all speculation as he announced a collaboration with an online learning app to support “teachers, teachers and coaches” and help them grow.
The former India captain wrote in his statement, “I am getting a lot of questions regarding my previous post. For some time now, I have been thinking of a group of people who are selflessly helping our society. and making India great every day.” ,
“IPL has given us amazing players but what inspires me more than that, is how much sweat and blood the coaches of all these players have shed for their success. It is not just for cricket, but in all other fields like academics, The same is true for football, music, etc. I am lucky to have all the coaches who made me who I am today,” he wrote.
“Throughout the ages we have been glorifying actors, sportspersons and successful CEOs for their remarkable work. It is time we glorify the true heroes, their coaches and teachers. I want to do something for all the coaches, teachers and teachers . world. Starting today, I will be actively working to support them all by being their ambassador,” he concluded.
Ganguly took over as the President of BCCI in 2019.
