South Korea says North Korea fired missile into sea

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the sea from its east coast on Saturday.

Japan’s coast guard also said that North Korea fired a ballistic missile.

The firing came after North Korea threatened an “unprecedentedly persistent, strong” response on Friday, as South Korea and the United States prepared for annual military exercises as part of efforts to address North Korea’s growing nuclear and missile threats. Gird up
