The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo following the findings of a three-member committee probing the May 7 Ranchi airport incident that “prima facie indicates improper handling of passengers by IndiGo employees, leading to resulting in non-conformity with certain applicable rules”. The committee probing the incident, where a specially-abled child was denied boarding by an IndiGo employee, has submitted its report to the DGCA. On May 7, an IndiGo employee refused to board a specially-abled child for a Ranchi-Hyderabad flight. The airline said at the time that the child “looked in panic”.
