SpiceJet chairman Ajay Singh booked for cheating Gurugram businessman

SpiceJet Chairman Ajay Singh has been booked here for allegedly duping a businessman on the pretext of allotting company shares. The police gave this information on Monday.

Complainant Amit Arora claimed that Singh had duped others in a similar manner.

According to the complaint, the SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director gave a fake Depository Instruction Slip (DIS) of 10 lakh shares for the services rendered to him by Arora.

Arora, who is in the business of providing non-aeronautical services including airport retail and hospitality at various airports in India, claimed that Singh had promised him 10,00,000 SpiceJet shares for his services.

“Ajay Singh provided a depository instruction slip, which later became invalid and out of date. Thereafter, I contacted him several times and requested him to either provide a valid depository instruction slip or transfer the shares directly. However, On pretext or other, he refused to transfer the shares to me, Arora said in his complaint.

“I was left with no option but to level allegations against Singh,” he said.

Police registered a case under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or banker, merchant or agent), 415 (cheating), 417 (cheating), 420 (cheating and abetting dishonest delivery) did. Property) of the Indian Penal Code at Sushant Lok Police Station.

Inspector Poonam Hooda, SHO, Sushant Lok police station said, “An FIR has been registered and we are verifying the facts and action will be taken as per law.”
