Spinny releases vintage car trends for the second quarter of 2022; Says 57% of its customers were first time buyers

Gurugram based used car platform, Spinny has released its trend report for the second quarter of 2022 calendar year. Between April and June 2022, the company observed that 57 percent of its customers were first-time car buyers. In fact, the majority of Spinny’s customers were between the ages of 30 and 40, while 32 percent of the total car buyers were women. Spinney reports that the increase in demand for used cars is due to factors such as the need for personal mobility, the economics and acceptance of used cars.

The Spinny saw a 75 percent higher demand for petrol cars, compared to 23 percent and 2 percent compared to diesel and CNG.

The report also mentioned that due to the high demand for contactless buying and selling in the used car market, 44 per cent of Spinny’s total transactions took place through online channels. On the other hand, 80 percent of Spiny customers preferred home delivery of their car. The report also highlighted what were the top picks of Spiny customers in terms of brand, model and color in the second quarter of 2022. While the top 3 preferred car brands were Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Honda, the top 3 models were preferred. The customers followed by Hyundai i20, Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Spinney also reported that 80 percent of Spiny patrons preferred to have their car home delivered.
