Spotify may soon let you search for playlists from other users

Music streaming service Spotify is testing a new feature to discover music for listeners with a collection of playlists curated by select Spotify users and influencers.

The Featured Curator Pilot is a limited time trial that promotes popular user and influencer playlists with our Spotify playlists.

“Spotify converted music discovery through leading playlists like Rapcaviar and personalized playlists like Discover Weekly,” the company said in a blog post.

“Now, we are experimenting with playlist creation and taking discovery even further. We’re always testing unique and different listening experiences and programs for our fans, and we’re excited to see it happen.”

The curators the company said it has chosen are music lovers with an established following and popular playlists on Spotify, or users who are telling unique stories and building authentic relationships with other users through playlists. .

Users in select markets can soon start viewing recommended curator playlists in-app and on their homepage.

“As we continue to work on the program during the trial period, we will consider how we develop and innovate the experience,” the company said.

“Our goal has always been to make Spotify the number one destination for the best listening experience, and with this pilot, we’re giving listeners a new way to find music from fellow fans who are just as engaged as they are.”
