SPPU is considering to conduct semester examination in offline mode from January 2022

NS Savitri Bai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is preparing to conduct its next semester examination in offline mode. According to a report in Hindustan Times, SPPU has started the preliminary preparation for the offline examinations and a detailed plan is likely to be finalized at a major meeting of the examination department of SPPU on 15th December. The next semester of SPPU will start from January 2022.

Like every other university, SPPU had shifted to online modes of teaching since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March last year, however, now that the Maharashtra government has decided to open college campuses for fully vaccinated students. The university will return to the offline exam if you have given your approval for the same.

Speaking about the plan to reopen the university offline, SPPU’s head of examination and evaluation department Mahesh Kakade said that the key aspects of the semester examinations were discussed in the recent meeting, where the university authorities unanimously decided to go for offline mode. decided to conduct the examination. The university will prepare a plan after the Diwali holidays.

In the meeting to be held on December 15, university officials will review the COVID-19 situation in the state and also take students’ opinion on the exam hours, methods (verbal or multiple choice questions) before finalizing the decision.

The Maharashtra government had allowed reopening of college campuses from October 20 for fully vaccinated students, teachers and non-teaching staff. Institutions were instructed to strictly follow the COVID-19 norms like wearing of masks and social distancing. The decision also allowed continuation of online classes for all those students who would not be able to attend offline classes. The reopening of the colleges was to take a call with the local administration based on the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maharashtra has been one of the worst affected states by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in the last few weeks, the situation has shown signs of improvement and the number of cases has come down drastically. The state recorded only 809 new cases in the last 24 hours, while over 1900 patients were cured of the virus during this period.
