The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has demanded that the faulty pillars of the Kochi Metro, which are slightly inclined, leading to misalignment of rail tracks, should be inspected by experts other than engineer E. Sreedharan.
SDPI district general secretary Ajmal Mujeeb accused Sreedharan of dereliction of duty, as the pillar was constructed under the supervision of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Sreedharan had claimed that there would be no problem in construction for 100 years. But soon a problem arose. Therefore, he should not be involved in inspecting the fault. Instead, it should be done by a team of experts, Mr. Mujeeb said.
