SRH vs LSG: Pooran, Mankad and Stoinis lead Lucknow to a resounding win over Hyderabad

SRH vs LSG: Nicholas Pooran, Prerak Mankad and Marcus Stoinis Gave Lucknow Super Giants a resounding win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 58th match of IPL 2023. Chasing a target of 183 in their 12th match of the season, LSG returned to winning ways as they won the contest with 7 wickets in hand and 4 balls to spare.

The second innings was mostly controlled by the Sunrisers as they picked up crucial wickets and kept the Supergiants batsmen in check. By the end of 13 overs, the required rate was above 13 but Abhishek Sharma’s 15th over proved to be the deciding factor where Stoinis and Pooran scored 31 runs. This put SRH on the back foot and even though Bhuvneshwar Kumar And with T Natarajan trying to get his team back, the game went off relatively smoothly.

Lucknow Super Giants were winless for more than 2 weeks. Prior to this game, LSG’s last win was against the Punjab Kings on 28 April. Lucknow have played three games since that outing and returned with just 1 point thanks to a washout against Chennai Super Kings. LSG are now back in the top four of the points table with 13 points from 12 matches. Meanwhile, SRH are almost out of the tournament and only a lot of permutations and combinations can save them.

Batting first, Sunrisers scored 182/6 in the allotted 20 overs. The score was moderated by Abdul Samad with contributions from a few other batsmen. Anmolpreet Singh helped SRH in the early stages as he scored 36 off 27 balls. Rahul Tripathi and aiden markram Played cameos of 20 and 28 runs respectively. Meanwhile, Klaasen was brilliant in the middle as he smashed 47 off just 29 balls.
