Sri Lanka all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga tests positive for Covid-19

Sri Lanka will be without Wanindu Hasaranga for the third T20I to be played against Australia today after the all-rounder tested positive for Covid-19. Hasranga underwent a rapid antigen test on Tuesday morning, the result of which came positive, after which he was kept in isolation.

Hasaranga is the third Sri Lankan cricketer after Kusal Mendis and Binura Fernando to test positive on the tour of Australia.

“Wanindu Hasaranga has tested positive for Covid-19. A Sri Lanka Cricket statement said the player was found positive during the Routine Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted this morning (February 15).

“Hasranga is presently going through the COVID-19 protocol and has been kept in isolation,” it added.

Sri Lanka are in Australia for the five-match T20I series, in which they are trailing 0-2 after losing the opening two matches.
