Prayagraj: Undertrial prisoner absconding SRN On Sunday, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment. The prisoner went out on the pretext of a walk and then ran away. Though the policemen on duty gave a good chase but failed to nab him. The jail warder has been suspended for negligence and efforts are on to trace the prisoner.
According to the information, the absconding prisoner Lamp Pal (33) was a resident of Udaipur Magaiti village and lived here Padam Enclave According to the case registered at the Civil Lines police station in Naini area, Deepak was arrested in a gang rape case in March last year.
senior superintendent Naini Central Jail PN Pandey He said that Deepak was suffering from vomiting and other problems. He was admitted to SRN Hospital on May 18 following the advice of doctors at the jail hospital. Deepak was kept in the third floor ward of the old building of SRN Hospital and two policemen were posted there. It has been told that Deepak had left the ward on the pretext of a walk on Sunday morning. After sometime he suddenly started running out of the building. The policemen on duty chased him but Deepak escaped by dodging them.
Several police teams including SOG were pressed into service to trace Deepak. Senior Superintendent of Naini Central Jail PN Pandey said that the jail warder Arjun Prasad who was in-charge has been suspended for negligence. CO Shahganj Satyendra Tiwari said that an FIR has been registered and efforts are on to nab the absconding prisoner.
