Stalin visits Narikuruva village after community woman raised her voice against discrimination

At their homes, Mr. Stalin interacted with their families and also inspected the houses of Narikurvā and Irulas and discussed increasing the facilities in their neighbourhood.

The CM also received petitions seeking redressal of grievances and promised them that all steps would be taken to create all facilities including proper roads and assured measures to enhance their livelihood opportunities.

The event was held at Punjeri village in Thirukazhukundram taluk of Chengalpet district, about 50 km from Thiruvanmiyur in south Chennai.

The Chief Minister’s Assistance Initiative is a sequel to Ms. Ashwini expressing her grievances and discrimination towards her community. His complaint went viral on social media. He had said that some people in a temple in Mamallapuram had denied food to him and others of his tribe.

An official release in Chennai said that six senior citizens would get old age pension, a state welfare scheme, ration cards to 21 families, 18 persons voter ID cards and 88 Irula and 34 Narkuravas scheduled tribe and most backward community caste certificates respectively. Given.

In all, 282 people were beneficiaries and ₹4.53 crore is the estimated cost of various types of state assistance including development initiatives, the government said.

“What has been denied to Sister Ashwini is not food but honour,” Mr Stalin tweeted after presiding over the event and providing assistance.
