Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday said his government aims to ensure that all its welfare schemes reach everyone in villages across the state.

He participated in a special Gram Sabha meeting at Sengadu Gram Panchayat of Sriperumbudur in Kancheepuram district on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day.

During his address, Mr Stalin said that he would not stop only to make announcements for various schemes and assured the people that he would not only review the status of their implementation through letters or phone, but also to inspect them. Will also visit places for

Listing out the steps being taken by the state government to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) envisaged by the United Nations, Mr Stalin said that only local bodies can help in realizing the SDGs at the village level.

Referring to the various demands of the people in the meeting of the Gram Sabha on Sunday, the Chief Minister assured that all their demands would be acted upon soon. He also made new announcements for Sengadu Gram Panchayat.

The Madurai Veeran Temple tank in Sengadu will be renovated under the Annaithu Village Anna Marumalarchi Thattam (AGAMT) at a cost of ₹12.11 lakh. He said that paver block roads at Mathamam Koil Street and other main roads at Kandamangalam, Sengadu Cross Street and Madurai Veeran Temple Street would be laid at a cost of Rs 9.40 lakh.

Under AGAMT, basic facilities will be created in the primary school of Panchayat Union for ₹ 5.70 lakh. He said that under Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme paver block roads would be laid in the streets of Sengadu and Kandamangalam for Rs 25.57 lakh.
