Jeeveshu Ahluwalia, who calls himself ‘Laughterpreneur’, shared his piece on ‘Indian Funeral’ and got slammed for his insensitive comment.

Comedy is not a piece of cake that everyone can ‘bake’. It takes a sense of relatability along with humor. However, this does not mean that every sensitive topic touched upon is relevant to the audience. Such was the case with a stand-up comedian whose skit on ‘Indian funerals’ was heavily criticized on social media as users found it more annoying and less funny.

Self-styled ‘Laughterpreneur’ Jeeveshu Ahluwalia shared his piece on ‘Indian Funeral’ and posted the gist of it on the photo-sharing platform. He began by saying, ‘Indians are not the right people to perform funeral rites… just as we do not react well. His feelings during the funeral. His bit did not go down well with the Indians, who called it ‘not funny at all’.

Netizens lambasted her for making disparaging comments for comedy as one of them commented, “Completely ridiculous!! Not everything is funny!! Making fun of people’s feelings is not comedy!! Put yourself in your place.” Put it in and think man”. “Not funny at all. I guess you haven’t seen any funerals yet. So you don’t know the pain of those people,” slammed another.

A third user said, “Dead jokes” while a fourth wrote, “Can’t stop laughing because never started. I think this lame quote is still better than his script.”

Earlier, comedian Harsh Gujral was called out for being rude to women in the audience after users found his language “rude” and “abusive”. In another viral video, Gaurav Gupta was criticized for a skit on having a daughter which, in his words, would equate to an ideal ‘retirement plan’.
