Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, directed by Anil Sharma, was released in 2001. The film also featured Ameesha Patel, Sunny Deol and Amrish Puri. The film was a huge hit at the box office and was one of the blockbuster films of the year. Made in a budget of Rs 19 crore, the film earned more than Rs 100 crore at the box office.
