State Curriculum Framework to be published by end of November as per NEP

Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh on Tuesday said Karnataka will come out with the State Curriculum Framework (SCF) as per the National Education Policy by the end of this month.

Talking to media persons in Bengaluru, the minister said that the Center has already published the National Educational Curriculum in line with the New Education Policy. He said the state would appoint a committee of experts to come up with a uniform framework. He informed that based on the report of the committee of experts, the SCF would be finalized and published.

He said that a committee has been constituted to coordinate between the education and women and child development departments and IAS officer MT Reju has been appointed as the convener of the committee.

According to him, the BJP government is emphasizing on the development of infrastructure in the field of education. He said 8,000 classrooms were constructed in the first three years of the BJP rule, while another 8,000 would be built before the tenure of the current government ended.

In response to a question, he said that an entrance test was conducted to recruit 15,000 high school students to the posts. He said that the government was expecting that it would get at least 11,000 to 12,000 eligible candidates.

The minister said that the government has also given importance to rectify the errors in the property documents of government schools and remove encroachments from these lands. About 3,000 of the total 8,000 such incidents have been resolved, he said.
