‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ marks the return of STR-Gautam Menon-AR Rahman combination
upcoming tamil movie Vendhu Thanindhathu Kadu Simbu marks the return of the hit trio of Gautham Menon and AR Rahman, who gave us Vinaithandi Varuvay (2010) and achham yenbadhu madmayeda (2016). At the film’s audio launch held at Pallavaram Vel University on Friday evening, actor Simbu’s provocative speech whistled thousands of fans gathered at the venue. He said, ‘It is my job to do films. What audiences should do is to talk about it after its release. I’ve been described as a person with an attitude, but my latest mantra is: Gratitude is my new attitude.”
He said this not only in front of his many fans but also in front of a gathering including Kamal Haasan and AR Rahman, whom he has specially mentioned in his cinematic journey so far. their upcoming Vendhu Thanindhathu Kadu There will be a different offering, he insisted. “I needed to look like a 19-year-old for this film,” reveals Simbu, “There are many people from villages in Tamil Nadu who work hard away from their homes, and more. This film is dedicated to him.”
Based on the story of Tamil writer Jayamohan, the film will be a notable departure for Gautham Menon, who is known for his urban tours. “It was an interesting challenge,” said Gautham, adding that Jayamohan was happy that I had come out of my zone for it. Key making style and quote VTK was different. The original story doesn’t have traces of love, but they come out well.”
Interestingly, this was not the original project that Gautham had undertaken. He was actually working on a movie titled nadhigalil neerdum suniyas That’s when the idea for this present film sprouted during a conversation I had with the author. “I had already finished three songs with AR Rahman for that film. As I didn’t want to waste much of their time, I said that I would use the same tune with different songs for this project. But Rahman gave us new tunes for this project.
Produced by Dr Ishari K Ganesh of Wells Films, the film is slated to release on 15 September and also stars Siddhi Idnani, Neeraj Madhav and Radhika Sarathkumar. “This film will be a journey,” concluded Simbu.
