Strong response to mega vaccination campaign

In the tenth round of the Mega Vaccination Camp held on Sunday, the Central Region vaccinated a large number of people. Thanjavur district ranked fourth among all the districts of the state, while Tiruchi ranked fifth.

Apart from setting up camps at places of public interest, the district administration was directed to continue with door-to-door vaccination. Health workers demanded proof of vaccination from people who claimed to have taken the jab, and given it to those who had not yet taken it. The move also benefitted people with disabilities, the elderly and those who could not reach the vaccination centers due to lack of transport.

In Thanjavur district, 84,105 people took the jab, out of which 51,705 took the second dose. In Tiruchi, 81,508 people took the jab, of which 42,680 were given a second dose.

In Karur, a large population took the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Of the total 41,248 people who attended various camps organized in the district, 28,472 took the second dose.

In Ariyalur district, which had vaccinated 88.16% of the population with at least one dose, 38,834 people took advantage. So far 5,30,760 people have taken jam in the district.

A total of 18,631 people laid siege to neighboring Perambalur district.

A total of 32,929 people were vaccinated by health workers in Tiruvarur, of whom 21,119 took the second dose. In Nagapattinam, 20,508 people took the COVID-19 vaccination, in Mayiladuthurai, 21,082, in Pudukottai district, 20,864 and in Aranthangi, 17,299 people got vaccinated.
