A group of students of a private school got a first-hand account of the functioning of a police station and law enforcers during their visit to Mathur police station in the district on Tuesday.
About 100 students were taken to the police station where they were welcomed by the personnel posted at the police station.
The students took a round of the station and were briefed about its working and the manner in which the police personnel deal with the issues coming to their notice. During the interaction with the students, the police officers of the station tried to allay the fear in the young mind by saying that a police station is like any other government office and treat the personnel as members of their family. The students were told about the rank hierarchy. Functioning of Police Department and Police Station to maintain law and order and prevent crimes. They also learned about crimes against women and cyber crimes, a police official said, adding that the initiative was taken on the instructions of Inspector General of Police, Central Zone.
