Sub-India pair tour begins in Bhubaneswar; Assam Yatra from Tuesday

In addition to the main 3,570-km Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra, the Congress is organizing several sub-marchs in states that the main yatra will not pass through.

A sub-India pair yatra was launched in Bhubaneswar on Monday by the Congress to cover a distance of 2,250 km, while a similar march will be flagged off in Assam on November 1.

In addition to the main 3,570-km Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra, the Congress is organizing several by-marches in states the main yatra will not pass through.

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the significance of the launch of the Bharat Jodi Yatra on October 31, the death anniversary of Indira Gandhi, is that her last public speech was in Bhubaneswar on the evening of October 30, 1984.

“The Bharat Jodi Yatra-Odisha began today from Bhubaneswar. It will be a 2,250-km-long circumambulation of 24 districts and will culminate in the capital where Indira Gandhi gave her last public speech on the evening of October 30, 1984,” he said. Tweet.

“Tomorrow the Bharat Jodi Yatra-Assam will start from Golokganj to Sadiya (830 km),” Ramesh said.

State units of Congress in many states are gearing up for such by-yatras.
