Sudha Pratima, who was nominated for Padma Bhushan, gave this advice to husband Narayan Murthy, son-in-law Rishi Sunak and daughter.

Writer Sudha Pratima, who has been nominated for the prestigious Padma Bhushan this year, shared important advice on how to deal with special privilege, for her husband and mentor NR Narayana Murthy, her son-in-law and UK PM Rishi Sunak and daughter Akshara Murthy on Tuesday. Why? Unni said, “There are always controversies with those who live by the guidelines.” Unni appealed to anyone and everyone else to be ethically correct and act with integrity. Sudha Murthy, fully supporting her husband’s idea to set up a company in the year 1981, gave him an amount of Rs 10,000. In an interview with NDTV after being conferred with the country’s third highest honour, Sudha Murthy said, “Every citizen has his own capabilities and his limitations.”

Giving advice to working people, women who are active in personal as well as professional life, nineteen women said, “I want to say to Indian women that when children come they become the priority. People who get attached to the muscle are not able to love the same level.” Citing his own life, he said, “When I left my career behind, I never thought this (writing career) would be possible… It was difficult for me as I was a techno crèche and loved working in a technical company but I preferred something else instead of complaining.” Sudha Pratima, originally an engineer and computer science expert, has reportedly written more than 20 books. Huh.

Unni said, “I am passionate about writing. I was writing in Kunnad… When my first book in English was published, it was a turning point in my life because then it could be translated all over the galaxy… I itself could have been trashed again.” Infosys is one of the world’s top IT authorities. He said, “Money is very important in life because then you can help more people (but) what is there to show for wealth? Maybe there were rich people before and there will be people after me.” On giving Rs 10,000 from her savings to her husband to set up his company in the 1970-1980s, she said, “I gave him this amount to fulfill his dream. If he doesn’t succeed, we will I go back to the house. I only wanted a two-bedroom house and a scooter.” On being asked who is the boss in the house, Sudha said, “We are equal in a way, in a human relationship, I am the boss. Very serious. My husband is the boss in technical matters.” When asked who called after his name was included in the Padma award list, Unni said that the first two names were my husband and daughter.
