Pune Pune airport faced runway blockage after a tire burst after Sukhoi Su-30MKI aircraft landed at the airport.
“a SU30 MKI aircraft The tire burst while landing at the Pune airport, blocking the runway. IAF personnel cleared the aircraft in record time, causing minimal disruption to civilian traffic in the afternoon of March 30.”
Local media reported that the runway was closed for two hours, due to which passenger flights were diverted to Mumbai and other places. The flights could not take off due to which there was a problem in departure.
Pune International Airport There is a civil enclave operating from the Indian Air Force (IAF) station at Lohegaon, which is used to train IAF pilots. It is the base of the front line Sukhoi aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
“Due to closure of runway at Pune (PNQ) till 1530 hrs, all departures/arrivals and their resultant flights may be affected,” SpiceJet wrote on its Twitter.
Allegedly Way Closed till 3.30 pm. The Indian Air Force (IAF) later opened the runway for flight operations after necessary checks.
