Supreme Court issues new SOP for hybrid hearing. details here

The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a new SOP for hybrid hearing under which all cases will be heard on Wednesday and Thursday only in the presence of lawyers/parties in the courtroom. The revised SOP will come into effect from October 20.

“In view of the encouraging response from the Bar and with a view to further facilitate the hearing through physical mode, all matters listed on Wednesday and Thursday as non-miscellaneous days will be heard only in the physical presence of the counsels/parties. Court-room,” the SC said in a statement.

All matters listed as non-miscellaneous day on Tuesday will also be heard in physical mode. However, attendance will be facilitated through video/tele-conferencing mode, on prior application by the AOR (Advocate on Record) for the party.

The AOR desirous of availing such facility of video linkage as a non-miscellaneous day for hearing on Tuesday, shall apply for the same by 1.00 PM on the previous working day at email id vc.request@sci.nic.in. .

The apex court said that hearing of all the matters listed on multiple days will continue through video/tele-conferencing, irrespective of their nature.
