The Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari’s plea against the West Bengal Assembly Speaker’s order dismissing his plea.Mukul Roy’s disqualification questioned As an MLA under the Anti-Defection Act. A bench headed by Justice L Nageswara Rao said Mr Adhikari may very well move the Calcutta High Court. Speaker Viman Banerjee had on February 11 dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of the officer under the Tenth Schedule. The top court also took note of the submission that Mr Roy’s tenure as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was only for one year and asked the high court to decide the matter within a month.
