The protesters refused to bury the van driver until their demand was met. “We have given 24 hours to the government. If the demands are not met, we will march to Islamabad,” said a protester.
Nisar Ahmed, an office-bearer of the Association of Private Schools, had announced that they would keep schools in the district closed and would participate in civil society protests.
“People are angry. Students from all private schools came out to protest,” said Ahmed Shah, principal of a private school.
