Taliban: One dead after minibus hit by bomb in Afghan capital – Times of India

At least one person was killed and four others were injured on Saturday after a suspect Bomb Destroyed mini bus near to Taliban checkpoint Kabul, officials said.
The incident took place in the Kabul suburb of Dasht-e-Barchi, mostly members of the Shia Hazara community, which has been the target of violence for years. Islamic State (IS) group.
Since the Taliban returned to power on August 15, dozens of bombs have been detonated in eastern Nangarhar province – the epicenter of IS activity – but the capital, Kabul, has largely escaped such violence.
“I was in my car and the vehicle in front of us exploded,” an eyewitness told AFP.

He said the explosion happened near a Taliban outpost and gunshots could be heard soon after.
A nearby hospital posted a notice saying it had admitted one dead and four injured.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted that one person was killed and two were injured.

The bombing – for which no group has yet claimed responsibility – underscores the many challenges facing the new Taliban regime in Afghanistan, with the United Nations warning the country is on the brink of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis .
In a statement, Nangarhar’s governor’s office said authorities had arrested two “criminals”, but did not provide any other details.
“Further investigation into the incident is underway and further action will be taken,” the statement said.
Kabul has remained largely free of Islamic State activity since the Taliban takeover, with IS fighters raiding the city’s National Military Hospital in a recent attack, killing at least 19 people and more than 50 were injured.
