Tamil Nadu cabinet reshuffled, dairy minister dropped, MLA inducted

SM Nasar was in news a few months back for allegedly throwing stones at a party worker.

Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister SM Nassar has been dropped from the MK Stalin-led cabinet and TRB Raja has been inducted into the Council of Ministers. Raj Bhavan said in a statement on Tuesday that Governor RN Ravi has accepted the recommendations of Chief Minister Stalin.

This is the second reshuffle in the cabinet headed by Stalin, who will take office in 2021.

The statement said the chief minister has recommended to the governor “the inclusion of Dr. TRB Raja, (MLA) Mannargudi constituency in the Council of Ministers.” Mr. Ravi has “approved the recommendation.

Mr Raja heads the DMK IT wing.

Besides this, the Governor has also approved the recommendation of the Chief Minister to drop Milk and Dairy Development Minister SM Nasar from the Council of Ministers.

Mr Nasar was in news a few months ago for allegedly throwing stones at a party worker over some issue, a video of which went viral, drawing criticism from various quarters.

Raja is the son of senior party leader and Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu. The Raj Bhavan said that the MLA would take the oath of office on May 11.
