Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker M. Appavu said on Wednesday that while Governor RN Ravi had “created an unprecedented situationChief Minister MK Stalin tactfully handled the situation and upheld the dignity of the House by moving an immediate resolution.

“If the Chief Minister had not moved the motion, action of the governor It would have been a cause of shame for the whole country. The chief minister with his tact has upheld the dignity of not only the Tamil Nadu assembly but of all state assemblies,” he said during the ongoing assembly session in Chennai.

Mr. Appavu made it clear that the Governor’s duty is only to address the House from the printed speech and he cannot add or remove anything.

He also stated the Chief Minister’s resolve to retain part left by the governor It clearly defined the role of governors in the country.

The Speaker said the governor had created “confusion” by omitting some parts and adding some of his own. “I don’t know why he decided to do so.
