Tamil Nadu: Free booster dose camp started in Delta region

A 75-day free booster dose camp started in Tiruvarur district from Friday.

Inaugurating the camp at the District Collectorate here, Collector P. Gayathri Krishnan said that a total of 1,27,921 persons have been identified to receive the booster COVID-19 vaccine dose in Tiruvarur district.

As per the guidelines issued by the Central and State Governments, those who had received the second dose of Novel Coronavirus Prevention Vaccination were eligible to get the booster vaccination jab after six months from the date of the second dose of vaccination.

Elaborate arrangements have been made to provide booster vaccination doses to eligible persons in the age group of 18 to 59 years at government hospitals and primary health centers during the campaign period. He said that the camps which started on 15th July will conclude on 30th September.

Also, the collector urged people to follow standard operating procedures such as wearing face masks, frequent hand washing and maintaining social distancing, even though the number of novel coronavirus cases identified has registered a decline.
