Bengaluru: Home Minister of Karnataka Araga Gyanendra visited on sunday command hospital in Bengaluru and inquired about the health of IAF group captain Varun Singh, who was the only survivor Tamil Nadu military helicopter crash,
Indian Air Force officials on Saturday informed that Varun Singh’s condition remains ‘critical but stable’.
Also met Gyanendra Singh’s parents.
Singh was shifted from Bengaluru to Air Force Command Hospital on Thursday wellington‘s military hospital for further treatment.
The captain of the group was recently awarded the Shaurya Chakra for an act of exceptional gallantry by President Ram Nath Kovind.
13 of the 14 people on board the Mi-17 V5 helicopter, including India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), his wife Madhulika Rawat, were killed after the crash on December 8.
Chief of Defense Staff General Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, his defense advisor Brigadier Lakhbinder Singh Lidder, Staff Officer Lt Col Harjinder Singh and nine other Armed Forces personnel including Air Force helicopter crew were among those killed in the accident.
On Friday, the bodies of General Rawat, his wife and their defense assistant Brigadier LS Lidar were cremated with full military honors at the Berar Square crematorium in the national capital. (ANI)
