At around 12.15 pm, they reached the mountain train track near Kateri where family members had taken photos and videos. “I heard the sound of the helicopter and started recording a video. It was a 19-second video. The helicopter was flying fast and disappeared into the mist. Within a few seconds, we heard an explosion and thought the helicopter had crashed. Gone,” said Joe.
Nazar said the area was covered in mist and the helicopter disappeared in the mist. “We heard a bang. Our video is one of the main evidences of the investigation into the helicopter crash,” Nazar said.
He tried to climb the hill using the track. Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and did not allow them to proceed.
“After reaching Ooty, we tried to contact the district collectorate and the officials at the SP office. But we were not able to message the officials. Both of us returned to the spot and shared the message with the officials there,” said Joe. .
