While Chandran did not reveal the launch timeline of the Altroz with automatic gearbox, he did confirm that it is part of the 10 products that the company plans to introduce this year. The delay in introducing new products for India can be attributed to the growing shortage of semi-conductor components, which has hit the global automobile markets in India as well. Though unconfirmed, the upcoming Tata Altroz automatic is expected to use a 7-speed DCT unit and will compete against the Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI and the Hyundai i20 Turbo.
