Tata Nexon EV Max India launch: Price expected

The upcoming long-range Tata Nexon EV Max will come with a bigger battery, and will have features like electronic brake and auto-hold function. With these features, the EV is likely to get a hike of Rs. 2-3 lakhs and it is priced around Rs. 18 lakhs to Rs. 20 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Tata Motors is all set to launch the long-range version of its all-electric subcompact SUV – the Tata Nexon EV Max on May 11. While the technical details and range are yet to be revealed, the SUV is expected to come with the big 40. kWh battery with a claimed range of over 400 km. In addition, based on the teasers released by the company, the electric SUV will now come with a new rotary dial for transmission, electronic parking brake and auto-hold function. And these features are definitely expected to boost the price of the upcoming Tata Nexon EV Max.

now, regular Nexon EV The XM, XZ and XZ Lux are offered in three variants, with Dark Edition options for the latter two trims, and are priced from ₹ 14.54 Lakh to ₹ 17.15 Lakh (ex-showroom, India). In the case of the long-range Nexon EV Max, we expect it to be sold alongside the current model, and considering the bigger battery pack and new features, the EV is likely to get a hike of Rs 2-3 lakh. Price is around ₹18 Lakh to ₹20 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Visually, the new long range Tata Nexon EV Max will remain largely similar to the regular model, however, we expect to add a ‘Max’ badge on the EV. The cabin is also expected to remain largely unchanged. However, the car will come with an updated center console, a new rotary dial with a display unit that shows you the mode you are in, along with a few other features.

The existing Tata Nexon EV draws power from a permanent-magnet AC motor that is paired with a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor is tuned for 127 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds with a top speed of 120 kmph. The IP67 rated battery pack is water resistant and offers an ARAI certified range of 312 km on a single charge. Tata offers a 3.3 kW onboard charger with the Nexon EV which can be fully charged in eight hours. Meanwhile, a 25 kW DC fast charger will charge the vehicle from 0-80 percent in 60 minutes.
