Tata Technologies, Industry Partners to Set up Common Facility in EV Domain

Global engineering and product development digital services firm Tata Technologies will establish a common facility in the electric vehicle domain with global industry partners and Lamarine Tech Skills University, a government statement said on Wednesday.

It will cater to the developing skills required in the area of ​​Electric Vehicle segment. A delegation of Tata Technologies called on Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at his official residence here on Wednesday, the statement said.

During the deliberations, Tata Technologies Global CEO Warren Harris; President Global HR & IT Pawan Bhageria and others expressed keen interest to set up this center in the state with the current investment 250 crore and future investment 1,600 crore, the statement added.

The delegation said that it will lay emphasis on the development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the EV segment with a focus on skilling the youth in the state and generating employment for them.

The Chief Minister assured full support and cooperation to Tata Technologies for this project.

He said that his government was committed to speed up industrial development in the state and no stone would be left unturned for this.

Mann said that the government is bound to reverse the trend of Punjabi youths going abroad in search of career, by ensuring that best employment opportunities are created here through such projects.

Mann said that Punjab is involving more industrial tycoons from across the country to set up their enterprises in the state.

The Chief Minister said that hardworking, dedicated and skilled human resources along with investment friendly policies of the State Government are a boon for any industrial development.

Meanwhile, it was also decided in the meeting that the Lamarine Tech Skill University (LTSU) at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar will collaborate with IBM, an anchor partner, and Tata Technologies and Ansys Corporation for setting up high-end technology laboratories through innovation centres. Will do education by investing in 602 crores.

This will help in creating a pool of skilled workers required by the industrial houses in the state.
