Teacher’s tearful farewell by students goes viral Mysuru News – Times of India

Kalaburagi: When Kannada Teacher Srinivasa Rao Kulkarni On Thursday, when he came out of the Government High School in Lingampalli village, the students and staff members shouted at him.
It was his last day in this school. Kulkarni has been transferred to another school.
Dressed in a shirt and trousers and carrying a small bag on his shoulders, Kulkarni stood wiping his tears while the children huddled around him and wept. Some of the staff members hugged him, then touched his feet, though Kulkarni tried to stop him from doing so. A group of schoolgirls also touched his feet. Kulkarni raised an uncertain hand to bless the children.
He taught in this school, sedum Taluk in Kalaburagi district, for eight years. He was clearly the school’s favorite teacher.
TOI contacted the 52-year-old teacher after a video went viral on his departure recording the reaction of students and Kulkarni’s colleagues.
Kulkarni said that he does not see himself as just a Kannada teacher. He tried to teach his students how to be good citizens. “We are not here only to teach the subject. We have come to build a good nation by giving good citizens to the country.”
He said that in high school, he also had a good teacher, Mahalingappa Pujari, who taught him to do only good deeds. Kulkarni had only tried to pursue his teacher’s work. He said that he always tried to help his colleagues with suggestions whenever they were in trouble. He often asked his students to do at least one good deed every day that made them proud.
Anita Bhimappa, a Class X student, said Kulkarni sir “always supported her in her studies as well as in school activities. He used to encourage us to deliver speeches on special days like Independence Day and Republic Day.
Headmaster Tatherao Shinde Indicated that Kulkarni’s association with the school would continue. “His participation will be with his team of students in any school’s activities,” he said. The school has 105 students in class VIII, IX and X. Kulkarni has been transferred to a high school in Sedam city.
