A municipal commissioner in Telangana has been arrested for allegedly abetting his wife’s suicide. The police gave this information on Thursday.
Police said the woman was found hanging in her house on February 7.
He said that her mother lodged a complaint that her daughter was harassed for dowry by her husband and his family.
Following the complaint, a case was registered against the Municipal Commissioner and five under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 498A (husband or relative of husband subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide) and the Dowry Prohibition Act Is. A police officer said that his family’s case was registered.
