Telangana CM felicitates 110 year old environmental activist

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao felicitated 110-year-old Indian environmentalist Salumrada Thimmakka at a function today.

Thimmakka paid a courtesy call on Mr. Rao at Pragati Bhavan here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister himself introduced Padma Shri awardee Salumrada Thimmakka to the ministers and public representatives present in the meeting. In the presence of all of them, Rao honored him and handed over a memento.

“Chief Minister Rao is working very hard for the development of Telangana state,” said Ms. Thimmakka. He expressed happiness over the present situation of Telangana in agriculture, forestry etc. under the leadership of Mr. Rao.

Ms. Thimmakka told the Chief Minister that she would grow more saplings in the state and her desire to protect the environment inspired the conference attendees.

Telangana Rajya Sabha MP Santosh Kumar J also met Padma Shri recipient Thimmakka and informed that an award will be presented by Thimmakka Green Foundation on his 111th birthday on June 28.

In a tweet today, Santosh Kumar J wrote, “Very happy to have the #GreenIndiaChallenge #Padmashree #SaalumaradaThimmakka garu and happy to plant a sapling with you today. I am glad that they have announced an award from Thimmakka Green Foundation which Will be granted to him. 111th birthday on June 28. #Blessed.”
