Telangana government employees will get DA arrears from February 2023

The arrears of dearness allowance will be paid to the employees retiring on superannuation on May 31, 2023.

The Telangana government has agreed to increase the DA of state employees by 2.75 per cent. Further, the amount will be paid in eight installments starting from February payable on March 2023.

The Telangana government has increased the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners by 2.73 per cent. This has sent a wave of happiness among more than 7.2 lakh government employees and pensioners of the state. The state government has revised its existing DA/DR from 17.29 per cent to 20.02 per cent, with retrospective effect from July 1, 2021. General Provident Fund (GPF) Account.

However, the arrears of Dearness Allowance will be paid to those employees who are due to retire on May 31, 2023. In addition, they are exempted from contributing to the General Provident Fund during the last four months of their service. Meanwhile, for pensioners, their arrears will be paid along with their January 2023 pension.

It is noteworthy that from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022, the dearness relief arrears will be paid in eight installments. The process for the same will start in February 2023, which will be due in March 2023.

According to Finance Minister T Harish Rao, the Telangana government’s move to increase DA will help 2.88 lakh retirees and 4.40 lakh government employees. Employees claim that DA of July 2021 has been issued and DA of January 2022, July 2022 and January 2023 is still outstanding.

Earlier, the Tamil Nadu government had increased the dearness allowance by 4 percent. Now the DA received by the employees has been increased from 34 percent to 38 percent. The decision of the Tamil Nadu government has resulted in a significant increase in the salaries of over 16 lakh state employees.
