Telangana: Opposition parties protest against TRS government over procurement of jobs, paddy; KCR government’s counterattack

With opposition parties protesting against the TRS government on Monday over jobs and procurement of paddy, the Telangana government hit out at the opposition over “false claims” and took a dig at the BJP over job creation.

While BJP leaders protested at the party office over jobs, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Revanth Reddy was arrested by the police from his residence in Jubilee Hills. Tension prevailed after the Congress leader’s fall while the police manhandled the Congress leaders.

Police stopped Revanth and the team from going to a protest rally to organize a ‘Rachhbanda’ on paddy cultivation at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Eravalli farmhouse. Revanth alleged that KCR cultivated paddy by asking farmers to grow other crops and asked why he was stopped and asked if Eravalli was a prohibited area.

“I will organize a Rachband in Erravalli despite the police ban,” he said and accused TRS and BJP leaders of joining hands on issues of paddy and jobs.

BJP state president Sanjay along with state affairs in-charge Tarun Chugh and other leaders protested for jobs at the party office after police did not allow mass protests at Indira Park. The BJP “opposed jobs” and warned that they would storm the assembly if the government failed to issue a jobs notification in January.

Our three MLAs will stop the assembly session calling them RRR (Raja Singh, Raghunandan Rao and Rajendra) and demand solutions for jobs, daddy and other issues. He took a dig that the TRS government is afraid of BJP leaders and issued an overnight order banning rallies and protests.

“We will demand from the government to fill up the jobs and take steps to address the farmers’ issues of paddy procurement,” he said. The BJP president also hit out at the state government for failing to stop the suicides of farmers and youth. Sanjay said that 600 farmers gave their lives due to the failed policies of the state government.

The BJP leader also pulled up the government for not giving notification of jobs to fill Group 1 posts and DSC for recruitment of teachers. He accused the KCR government of sacking 12000 Vidya Swayamsevaks, 7000 field assistants and 600 Mission Bhagirath workers.

“Our MLAs along with party leaders will not stop the TRS leaders and demand clarity on the same. If the notification of jobs is not issued in January, BJP will intensify the protest by gheraoing the assembly and our MLAs will stop its proceedings.

Responding strongly against the opposition’s protest, state ministers Harish, Niranjan Reddy and Srinivas Yadav drew criticism separately for spreading hatred and lies. Center failed to fill 8 lakh jobs as PM Modi promised to fill 2 crore jobs in a year and asked for white paper on jobs filled by Centre. The minister also attacked the BJP government at the Center for duping farmers and youth.

He hit out at BJP leaders for misleading farmers on paddy procurement, claiming that Union ministers Piyush Goyal and G Kishan Reddy talk differently on the same issue.
