Telugu Hanuman Jayanti 2022: Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated every year on the full moon date of Chaitra month according to the Hindu calendar. While in northern India, it is believed that Hanuman was born on the full moon day of the month of Chaitra, in states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the 10th day of the month of Vaisakha, according to the Telugu calendar. This year Chaitra Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated on 16 April.

Telugu Hanuman Jayanti: Date and Time

This year, Telugu Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on May 25. This festival is celebrated on the tenth day of the month of Vaishakha in the Telugu calendar. Dashami Tithi on 25th May will start at 10.45 am on 24th May and will be effective till 10.32 am on 25th May. As soon as the sun rises on the tenth day on Wednesday, Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on the same day.

Lord Hanuman is said to be one of the most powerful and cherished deities in Hindu mythology. On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, it is believed that Hanuman was born to the god of wind, wind and mother Anjana. To mark his birth anniversary, the day is celebrated with great enthusiasm by the devotees of Hanuman. Some devotees also recite Ramayana on this day.

Telugu Hanuman Jayanti: Worship Method

Telugu Hanuman Jayanti is mostly celebrated in the regions of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana. The people of these regions celebrate this day for 41 days. The auspicious festival begins on Chaitra Purnima day and ends on Krishna Paksha Dashami Tithi of Vaishakh month. For 41 days, the devotees observe a fast.

  1. While observing the fast, the devotees abstain from smoking, drinking alcohol and consuming non-vegetarian food.

  2. During the fast, people wear a special Hanuman initiation garland and orange colored dhoti.

  3. Some devotees observe fast and remain barefoot.

  4. Devotees recite Hanuman Chalisa and feed monkeys to impress the Lord.

  5. They light diyas with ghee during the day and pour mustard oil and orange vermilion on the idols of Lord Hanuman.

According to the Drik Panchang, the auspicious time to perform the puja is from 04:04 AM to 04:45 AM on May 25.
