Thiruvananthapuram:

Two political leaders of the BJP and the SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) have been murdered in Kerala’s Alappuzha, prompting the police to ban large gatherings in the district. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has condemned the killings and assured strict action.

SDPI’s state secretary KS Shan was murdered on his way home late last evening. Police said Mr. Shan was on a two-wheeler when he was attacked by a gang in a car. He died at a hospital in Kochi around midnight, police said.

Less than 12 hours later, some unidentified men barged into the house of BJP’s Ranjit Srinivasan, leading the party’s OBC unit, and killed him.

The police is investigating the matter.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said at a press conference, “Such heinous and inhuman acts of violence are dangerous for the state. I am sure everyone will be ready to identify and isolate such killer groups and their hateful attitude.” ” ANI.

BJP national general secretary CT Ravi accused the CPM-led Kerala government of “turning God’s own country into a jihadis’ paradise”.

Union Minister V Muraleedharan also condemned the attacks, alleging “goondaraj” (anarchy) in Kerala and said the state was turning into a “murder ground”. Tagging Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, he tweeted:

The SDPI has accused the BJP’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS workers of plotting the attack.

Party chief MK Faizi tweeted, “This is part of Sangh Parivar’s agenda to create communal violence in the state and disrupt communal harmony. Condemn RSS terrorism. Kerala Police’s apathetic attitude as a shot at RSS works in”

In a second tweet, he said, “Govt took tough measures to curb RSS stampede in 2 state and ensure peaceful life 4 people (sic)”.

Earlier, S Sanjeet, an RSS worker, was allegedly murdered on November 15 by activists of SDPI, the political wing of the People’s Front of India.
