Tesla CEO Elon Musk says mobile app is up and running after outage

Tesla’s mobile app was down on Friday after servers were shut down. This deterred many Tesla owners from attaching to their vehicles. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has now said that the company’s mobile app is now coming back online. Musk was responding to a tweet from a Tesla owner, who said he was experiencing a “500 server error” for connecting his Model 3 via it. iOS App in Seoul, South Korea.

“Should be back online now. Looks like we accidentally increased the verbosity of network traffic,” Musk said. Around 500 Tesla users reported that they encountered an error at around 4:40am ET (Nov 20 at 3:10AM IST), according to the outage monitoring website DownDetector, which tracks. Outages on its platform by aggregating status reports from a range of sources, including user-submitted errors. At around 9:20 PM ET (Nov 20 at 7:50 AM IST) there were just over 60 reports.

“Sorry, we’ll take measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” Musk said.
