TET case: IAS officer arrested in Thane; Number of arrests increased to 13

Police have arrested an IAS officer from Thane district of Maharashtra in connection with the alleged malpractices in the results of the statewide Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) held in 2020. An official gave this information here on Saturday.

“Bureaucrat Sushil Khodvekar has been arrested from Thane. He will be produced in a court today,” the Pune police officer said. With this, the number of people arrested in the case has gone up to 13,” he said.

The city police had on Friday said that the marks of 7,800 TET-2020 candidates were allegedly misappropriated for money. Earlier, 12 people, including Tukaram Supe, commissioner (now suspended) of Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCE) were arrested in connection with the alleged tampering of TET results.

Pritesh Deshmukh, director of the GA software firm, which was responsible for conducting the exams, and education department advisor Abhishek Savrikar are also among those arrested. Police have said that over Rs 4 crore in cash, gold ornaments and other documents related to fixed deposits have been recovered in this case in the past.
