“The first incident was at her grandmother’s residence where she shot her grandmother,” said Eric Estrada of the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was later taken to a medical facility.

Estrada said there had been no car chases in the area, suggesting that the traffic accident was unprovoked.
Abbott said two police officers received minor injuries in the shootout.
“Investigators were working to obtain detailed background information on the subject, its purpose, the types of weapons used, the legal rights to possess them, and to conduct extensive crime-scene investigations and reconstructions,” Abbott said.
According to Estrada, it is not clear whether Ramos has had conflicts with law enforcement in the past.

Uvalde School District Police Chief Pete Arredondo, in charge of the investigation, said Ramos acted alone.
An Instagram account linked to the suspect, which has since been taken down, showed several pictures of the young man.
In two black and white selfies, she is dressed in a hoodie with her hair down to her shoulders.
